A personal story born from love of a grape. The Anzivino project began when Emanuele Anzivino left his life in Milan to dedicate himself entirely to Nebbiolo, a variety that captured him from their very first encounter. He specialised in it and built the winery around it, running the business in a family-oriented, artisanal way and taking care of every step himself—from pruning to bottling. Today, Andrea Anzivino carries the project forward together with his father, looking ahead while preserving the family-run, artisanal dimension that has always defined them. Their goal is to position Anzivino as a quality niche within the premium reds of Alto Piemonte, an area they believe deserves much more attention in international markets.
Two generations, one shared direction. Founded in 1998 in Gattinara, the winery was born from a deliberate choice: Gattinara and its volcanic hills, a territory historically devoted to Nebbiolo and capable of giving it a distinctive identity. Today Emanuele and Andrea carry this path forward together. The experience of the first generation meets a contemporary outlook, in a continuous dialogue between continuity and evolution. The tendril, their emblem, represents the desire to start from the roots of tradition and territory, growing with coherence toward the future.
Volcanic terroir, millennia of tradition. The hills of Gattinara rise on the bones of an ancient volcano. Their porphyric soil, rare in the wine world, gives Nebbiolo an unmistakable minerality and a tannic structure that evolves for decades. A land cultivated for over two thousand years and celebrated since Roman times, we return to these roots every day. We work the vineyard by hand with absolute respect for nature's rhythms, harvesting every single cluster manually. Planting densities faithful to local tradition and a constant ear to the territory guide every gesture.
The historic winery and hospitality. The winery and rooms are located within a historic distillery founded in 1862, a symbol of ancient productive Gattinara. In 1998, Emanuele oversaw the restoration, turning it into a modern winery without erasing the marks of time. Today guests come to taste wines, sleep among the vineyards and discover Gattinara at their own pace. The Courtyard has become a place of welcome, preserved soul intact—exposed brick, green shutters, bougainvillea colouring the summers. La Tinaia, once grappa storage with original brick vaults and cool temperatures, is where breakfast is served each morning among local produce.
London Wine Competition 2026: Double Gold for Nebbiolo. Anzivino's two flagship Gattinara expressions earned Gold Medals, validating their artisanal, detail-driven approach to Nebbiolo.
A wide range of Nebbiolo expressions. One of Anzivino's greatest passions is offering a wide range of expressions of Nebbiolo, even when the starting point is essentially the same: it's a grape that rewards attention to detail and reveals different facets depending on how it's worked in the vineyard and in the cellar. Beyond the two Gattinara DOCGs, the portfolio includes Bramaterra DOC (Nebbiolo blend), Nebbiolo DOC Coste della Sesia, Rosa Continho Metodo Classique Rosé and Continuo—an amphora wine fermented 12 months in beeswax-sealed amphora.
